The Delivery Process

In order to prepare music and video assets for digital delivery we require:

Audio – One copy of each release on CD or a hard drive of WAV files for delivery of large catalogues of music.

Artwork – Album covers in format TIF file, RGB Colour, 300dpi, 1500px. If you do not have your artwork in this format we can re-format your album artwork from the original files.

Meta Data – An excel spreadsheet template containing all information relating to each track to be delivered. Information required included artist names, release names, track names, tunecodes, ISRC codes (see below for further information), barcodes (see below for further information), original release dates and proposed digital release date, writer/publisher information for each track.

We can assist with each stage of this process.

A 12-week lead-in time is recommended to ensure meeting release dates and allow time for marketing efforts.

We cannot guarantee meeting release dates unless all assets are ready for delivery at least 8-weeks in advance of release date.

MAXIMISING SALES

To realise the best sales potential from a digital release a number of promotional tools can be used to better your chances of securing prominent product placements on digital stores and other routes such as music recommendation email newsletters and so on.

Firstly, a ‘one-sheet’ similar to a sales sheet should be prepared for each release outlining relevant information such as any promotional efforts surrounding the release, previous sales history, profile of artist, highlighting of successes in various territories, tv/film/advertising synchs etc.

Secondly, offering additional audio or artwork material such as bonus tracks (which are not available on the physical version of the album) are useful marketing tools to offer to individual stores. Interview audio, digital artwork, music videos, remix/re-mastered versions, photo albums are all ideas of exclusive material that can go towards adding value for the customer and therefore attracting the attention of stores to feature the release in favourable positions on their store.

Finally, as with physical releases, driving traffic to stores and securing a final sale is the ultimate goal. Promoting the availability of your music on various digital outlets and mobile networks by whatever means works best for your genre of music (print reviews, website links, airplay, advertising, online blogs etc.) is essential in maximising sales and will ensure customers come back for more of the same.

Further information on:

Barcodes

Barcodes are required for digital distribution. A barcode can be obtained from a company called GS1 through the following link - http://www.gs1.ie/sections/Products/GS1BarCodes/GettingStartedNeedaBarcode
If you do not have a barcode for your release, we can generate one for you.

ISRCs

International Standard Recording Codes (ISRCs) are required to deliver audio or video to digital stores. These are codes assigned to individual recordings to make it easy to definitively identify one sound or video recording from another.
They can be obtained from Phonographic Performance Ireland (P.P.I).
Follow this link to contact P.P.I and get more information on ISRCs - http://www.ppiltd.com/isrc.htm
ISRCs should be obtained BEFORE mastering your CD as they can be embedded during the mastering process.
If you do not have ISRCs, we can generate them for you.
